The Launch of CGS!

What is Cool Geek Society, you ask?
"To put it simply, we are individuals doing what we love to do. This website provides us a space to create, collaborate and share all the ideas we happen to think about."

I love that!!! Its so hard to find creative resources on the net for the people (like myself) who march to the beat of their own drummer (or in my case, their own marching band).

I was her FIRST photo shoot ever & that alone was an honor for me. We did a quick indoor shoot for 3 models, each wearing two make-up looks. It was a pleasure working with all of them.

Gotta love Sol!!

There is a local artist in the DC area that EVERYONE needs to know about! His name is Sol Zahran and he is so talented!!




His voice is like a mix of milk, brown sugar, and BUTTER!! Ok, maybe I'm writing this post on an empty stomach, thats not the point *laughs*

I've seen him perform live on several occasions & his sound is so amazing. I was totally impressed by his range & his charisma on stage.

Stay tuned for more smooth music from this man. I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot more of him soon

Updates!!

Its been a while since my last post, but of course I've been hard at work! :-)

I've made some new editions to my equipment which means bigger and better projects and art to share with you all. I'm so excited about how everything has been moving along.

I've been doing more advertising work for various clients. Building press kits and helping people strengthen their portfolios. I love being able to use what I know to support other artist out here doing what they love!!

Things you can expect in the next few weeks:

* An upgraded site
I'll be revamping the web page soon. Out with the old, in with the new. The new layout will reflect my growth aesthetically.

*A youtube page
I've been working with very talented writers and artist to bring you an entertaining channel via Youtube. It will feature great music, featurettes and skits.

*An ADDITIONAL site
As I mentioned, I've been doing more advertising work for various people... I've been doing so much that I decided it isnt fair to highlight that work on this blog. I'll be creating an alternate site that features the branding packages I've created and all the PR work I've been doing.

*Working out!
LOL just thought I should mention my new found love of fitness. I've been trying to get healthier and I'm really proud of myself for aking the effort.

Photoshoot: Construction Grounds

Well, I finally did a shoot with her! It was so much fun. It was cold & rainy, but she didn't complain once. Shes a very talented make-up artist, and also a very talented wardrobe stylist. She put together two classic vintage looks for the shoot & I was very impressed!
We did this shoot at a construction area in DC. Lots of cool scenery to work with.

Photoshoot: Hyattsville Creek

Had an impromptu shoot with my friend Thomas by this really nice creek. All that lush scenery made for a great backdrop! Plus, I wanted to do a shoot that had a very natural & easy going feel about it.. so... I made him take his shirt off. *laughs* I mean, come on ladies, look at him!!







I also wanted to do one of my famous multiple frame shots. Thomas is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. which is one of the Divine nine organizations. In this pic he's doing something called "Strolling". Strolling is a tradition that traces back to the early 1900's to Black greek organizations. Google it! Its very interesting!


I love shooting with fun & easy going people. Makes it exciting! Also helps when they're really easy on the eyes ;-)
